(Austin, TX) - Texans for Lawsuit Reform has awarded State Senator Mike Jackson the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for his support of a fair and predictable civil justice system in Texas. Speaking to a luncheon in Houston on Wednesday, TLR Chairman and CEO Richard Weekley said:

TLR’s Civil Justice Leadership Award is presented to lawmakers who take a stand in support of the model lawsuit reforms that are boosting the Texas economy, creating jobs and bringing doctors to every community.
Senator Jackson is Chairman of the Nominations Committee and serves on four other committees – State Affairs, Business & Commerce, Natural Resources and Agriculture & Rural Affairs. Senator Jackson was first elected to the State Senate in 1998 after serving 5 terms in the Texas House. Senate District 11 includes parts of Brazoria, Galveston and Harris Counties.
