TLR Applauds Gov. Perry’s Continuing Commitment to Lawsuit Reform

(Austin, TX) Texans for Lawsuit Reform congratulated Gov. Rick Perry today on the civil justice proposals included in his State of the State message, which are key to maintaining our nation-leading economy and increasing access to doctors and health care throughout the state.
TLR President Dick Trabulsi said:
“Governor Rick Perry continues to demonstrate his strong commitment to lawsuit reform – a commitment that has helped make Texas a model tort reform state with one of the strongest economies in the nation. The Governor’s proposals, announced today, will discourage frivolous or abusive litigation, reduce the time and cost of many lawsuits and allow parties in smaller cases to get quick resolution. TLR looks forward to working with the Governor and the Legislature on these initiatives which will create jobs for Texans and protect access to doctors and health care going forward.”
Texans for Lawsuit Reform is the state’s largest civil justice reform organization. TLR is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with more than 17, 000 supporters residing in 863 Texas communities and representing 1,289 different businesses, professions and trades.
