Texas Leads The Nation With Jobs Surge

What happened: Texas employers added 78,000 jobs in August and 302,400 jobs over the past 12 months, setting new records for the state’s labor force, total jobs and the number of Texans working.

Tell me more: According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas has reached historic highs across multiple employment metrics:

  • Texas’ labor force reached an all-time high of nearly 15.4 million
  • A record 14.7 million Texans are currently employed, including the self-employed
  • Texas has outpaced all other states in both monthly and yearly job gains, with an annual growth rate exceeding the national average

TLR Thoughts: Texas’ leadership in job creation reflects the state’s commitment to creating an environment that allows employers and families to thrive, including keeping our legal system fair and efficient.
