TLR Weekly Brief | June 18, 2026

This Week’s Roundup

Friends,

It’s summer in Texas, and the road beckons. TLR’s team members have been busy this month, hitting the highway to visit with local clubs, the RPT Convention in Houston, and to Abilene with the Texas Association of Business for their chamber of commerce convention, bringing together chamber leaders from across the state.

In every encounter, we find Texans who appreciate the work Texans for Lawsuit Reform has done over the past three decades and our plans for the next session. Everyone wants to talk about the rising prices in insurance, groceries, and everything else, putting a strain on business and household budgets. These are important conversations as we talk about working to build, grow, and protect the Texas Economic Miracle.

Thank you to all of the organizations that have invited TLR to speak, support events, and grow the coalition of businesses. We’ve got plenty more work to do. We’re on the road again next week. Connect with us today to book a speaker in your community.

For the future of Texas,

TLR was proud to sponsor the Republican Party of Texas Convention

TLR was proud to sponsor the Republican Party of Texas Convention in Houston last weekend. On Friday, TLR’s CEO, Ryan Patrick, was highlighted on the main stage during the general session. On Saturday morning, we were honored to have Rep. Caroline Harris Davila and Sen. Kevin Sparks help kick off a sold out Rooted In Faith Prayer Breakfast featuring pastor John Hagee. Throughout the convention, TLR engaged with more than 5,000 grassroots members.

Attendees at the convention were shocked to learn that the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) sponsored the convention for the first time in history, especially following the release of a private memo last week that pointed to TTLA serving as a key funder in the Texas Blueprint PAC’s plan to flip the Texas House this November. Many delegates voiced their concerns with trial lawyers playing any role in the convention process, especially attempting to influence the party’s priority policies ahead of the 90th Texas Legislature.

Want to learn more about our work at the convention? Below are links to some of the handouts TLR shared with delegates at convention and groups around the state:

Connecting with Chamber Leaders in Abilene

On Monday, TLR hit the road again—this time to Abilene, where we served as sponsors for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives annual state convention. During the convention, TLR participated in a panel with the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (TTARA) to talk about advocacy work, connecting with lawmakers, and the best practices for navigating a legislative session.

There is clearly a lot of interest in local businesses connecting with lawmakers ahead of the next legislative session, where issues ranging from water and power to education and regulation will be top of mind. TLR will continue to travel across the state, working with local business leaders and coalition-builders to ensure Texas remains the best place to do business. When we succeed, Texans enjoy access to new jobs, abundant opportunity, and prosperity that uplifts the next generation. Thank you to the Texas Association of Business for inviting TLR to speak and connect with chamber leaders.

Is TLR Speaking to a Club Near You?

Last week, TLR had the chance to connect with local groups in Cypress-Fairbanks (northwest Houston) and Van Zandt County. Our Speakers Bureau features a roster of policy experts who can speak to your club or organization about the important policy fights happening in Austin and how you can deliver change for your community.

No club is too small, nor too far. Contact us today to book a speaker in your hometown.
